CMS offers specialist law and tax advice worldwide through 3,000 legal professionals in 59 offices. As well as focussing on client objectives, CMS along with MCM Architecture, has pioneered an innovative way of working, to change the traditional structure of typical lawyer offices to a client centric environment with workspace collaboration in open-plan.

The move took CMS from archaic accommodation across 7 floors of Mitre House to 3 large floors of Cannon Place. A modern, forward – thinking workplace with a simple, clean design and sparing use of colour. The concept of the business lounge embraces CMS’s desire to put the client first and to support their needs. From the initial personal greeting to the technology hub, everything is tailored to make a client’s experience easier.
MCM Architecture, has pioneered an innovative way of working, to change the traditional structure of typical lawyer offices to a client centric environment with workspace collaboration in open-plan.
To provide a human scale and sense of place within a large open plan environment, MCM has introduced a series of shared cellular support spaces designed to meet the specific needs of an employee in a 21st century law firm. Comprising state of the art video conferencing rooms, bookable and non-bookable meeting and quiet areas, café and breakout spaces, the building has been designed to facilitate both mobility and cross team collaboration.

The technology provides a new innovative mobile working environment, with fee earners equipped with tablet based computers and mobile phones; all of which work seamlessly from the fully wireless network infrastructure.

Although the walls of traditional partner and fee earner offices may have been taken away, the extensive alternative spaces to work and flexible technology, coupled with exceptional client amenity spaces, places CMS at the forefront of future legal workplace.
