MCM 25

MCM_004  MCM_184

Over 350 people joined MCM to celebrate our 25th Anniversay at the OXO2 last night. A huge thank you to all of our friends that joined us and for helping to make it such a success! Here’s to the next 25 years!

Run / Walk / Climb

MCM are busy doing our bit for charity, with Dominic McMurray landing himself a place in the 2015 London Marathon in aid of the British Heart Foundation, however he has pledged to complete 100 miles of running ‘races’ between now and crossing the finish line on April 26. Dominic’s journey begins with the Farnham Pilgrim on 21st September. Also, our Marketing Manager, Alexandra Green, will be taking part in the Cancer Research Shine Half Marathon Walk on 27th September. And finally, Laura Bellamy and Shannon Pope-Ellis will be heading off to Africa next month to take on the mammoth task of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of the Sunflower Fund, a south african charity that supports children suffering with leukaemia by helping their families to find potential bone marrow donors. We wish them all luck on their journeys, and will keep you updated with their progress!

Project Win – Havas

MCM is extremely delighted to announce that we have been appointed by Havas, one of largest global advertising and communications groups in the world, to design their new London HQ at Kings Cross. The project will see all of Havas’ London offices and brands coming under one roof and is a further step in the implementation of their Havas Village strategy.

Tailor my Tom Vac

MCM were very excited to be part of Vitra’s ‘Tailor my Tom Vac’ competition. The brief was to re-interoperate the iconic Tom Vac chair by Ron Arad. We decided to team up with OPM (bespoke furniture designers and manufacturers) to develop our design. Our design thinking began by looking at the chair as a sculpture or piece of art and building on the organic nature, form and rippling effect of the chair. Our concept was to create something beautiful and delicate playing on light and shadow. This was realised through radial slicing, heating and pulling to allow light to penetrate at different points. We all thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the competition and seeing all the other submissions at Vitra’s London showroom event.
