A new sustainable office building with a flexible design for the future.
Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent
58,000 sq ft
The new, sustainable office building for Rolex is located on a Greenfield site, adjacent to a business park in Kent. The building accommodates all manufacturing, servicing and distribution facilities.

The building design allows Rolex to occupy and expand on the site over 50 years, so a high priority has been given to sustainable design and the energy performance of the building, with the capital cost of innovative energy performance solutions considered against design life.
The building utilises natural ventilation and is set within a newly constructed moat, with a twin wall building envelope. This acts as a security device as well as allowing natural cooling and pre-conditioning of air together with secure opening of windows.

The internal space has been planned on a footprint of approximately 2,200m2, with accommodation over three floors, the third floor houses an external roof garden, for possible future expansion. The initial building occupancy allows for 200 people with staff facilities and restaurant on the top floor, which has access to the roof garden.
